Reading is closely tied to writing to help our children read as writers, and write as readers. We cherish words, stories and literacy, helping our children to foster a love of reading and writing, and supporting the development of strong literacy skills

Southampton Reading Charter

The Southampton Reading Charter is a city wide initiative where schools pledge to enable all children to have access to a high quality reading education.  It is focused on developing the reading for pleasure culture within schools.  We achieved our bronze award in July 2025 and we look forward to working towards our silver award.
