week 1: Outdoor learning singing in pairs with picture cards

Autumn 2: Toys In Space!

This term we are looking at Holst's The Planets and thinking about what space sounds like!

First of all we watched an orchestra play Mars and moved around the room to it.

We learnt the words staccato and legato.  Ask us what they mean!

Week 4 Robot Invasion - Year 1 tried to play this on the percussion instruments. Well done Year 1

This playalong uses Ta, Ti-Ti, and Sh. Ta is what we in the UK call a crotchet, Ti-Ti are quavers and Sh! is the crotchet rest. Now we are starting to learn to read rhythms in musical notation

Our learning this half term is based on "I am a Robot" from BBC Bring the Noise.

At the end of week 1 we watched one of our girls sing her own composition, "I am Minnie Mouse, I go squeak, squeak, squeak, squeak."  Her video was on our social media page.  We also tried to play instruments in time together in a small group.  It was difficult but it was only our first time!
