Week 5: A very short snippet of amazing singing from Kingfishers class
Week 5: Nia from Southampton Music Service came in to give a singing lesson. We learnt some warm up exercises and "Power In Me"
Week 4: A good behaviour in music reward of a violin lesson! This is brilliant for a first try!
Week 3: David and Anas from Puffins class programmed "The Trumpet Shall Sound" by Handel.
Week 2: Aleks from Kingfishers programmed Thomas Tallis harmony and he was so quick at it! Amazing!
Week 1: pre assessment questions in a fun way on Blooket. At the end of the topic we should see our scores soar!

Week 5: continuing rhythms - semiquavers and bar lines!
15th March: We had a visit from Baby SUSO, players from the Southampton University Symphony Orchestra
Brooke had a turn at being the conductor
One pupil said, "I was feeling really peaceful because I had a hard day that day and it was really calming."
Another said, "I didn't know the violin would be there and I want to learn it so it's really inspiring."

Week 4: It was Omar's first music lesson at Bassett Green and he made his own rhythm and played it. Awesome!

Autumn Term Rap Project
We started by remembering what we had learned from the wonderful Mrs Philips in Year 4!
In week 2 we got to use the new bucket drums to create a rhythm. It was loud!

We made the rhythm strong on 2 beats only. Can you tell from the screenshot if the strong beats are 1 and 3 or 2 and 4? Which beat emphasis would we use for a rap?
