Year 5 Music

Autumn Term  Rap Project

We started by remembering what we had learned from the wonderful Mrs Philips in Year 4!

In week 2 we got to use the new bucket drums to create a rhythm.  It was loud!

In week 3 we found this website.

We made the rhythm strong on 2 beats only.  Can you tell from the screenshot if the strong beats are 1 and 3 or 2 and 4?  Which beat emphasis would we use for a rap?

In Week 4 we had to work out the meaning of the story before we listened to the music Kingfishers class were best at working together but Miss Blue helped Puffins class because she knows the rap really well!

Week 5 Rap work

Week 7 Halloween Inspiration! Jake wrote a rap and Mrs Williams typed it just as he'd written. Pupils then had to cut and stick as a rap. Jake decided this was the best.

Week 8 Starting to Write Our Own Raps and getting ideas

We have published our raps using Word so we can edit them where needed.
