Helping Children Learn

School Council

Every class in our school votes for their School Councillor in September.  We meet regularly, and Miss Till is our link teacher.  Here is our current School Council.

Thank you to everyone who put themselves forward to become a School Councillor. We hope you apply in following years as we would really like your contribution to our school.

As a School Councillor Team we are striving to ensure playtimes are more fun and engaging for everyone. All of these children have been allocated a role to complete over the week during lunch times. So far, we have seen Year 6 Pupils reading books to our KS1 children and engaging them in fun outdoor games.

Our next steps as a team are to purchase more games and activities to play at lunch times. If you are ever outside at lunch times make sure you find a Play Leader or a Midday Supervisor. They have come up with some really exciting games to play.

Look out for a questionnaire about our new reading records as we would like to hear your opinions.

Thank you, Miss Till

in 2015, we planned and organised a non-uniform day, disco and tuck shop to raise money for Children in Need.  We worked with Lloyds Bank to make sure that our events were a success, and with their help, we raised over £1,400.  We have exciting plans for 2016 too!

We have also discussed reading, and how important it is.  We suggested a reading club at lunchtimes – and now the library is open every lunchtime!

We are responsible for the annual survey of pupils – we ask the children in our class to complete a survey about what they think about school.  This helps us to decide what we need to work on.

A group of School Councillors went to our local Co-op store to collect a cheque for £300, which we have spent on new reading books for the school.
