Eco Warriors

Bassett Green Eco – Warriors

Here at Bassett Green Primary School we strive to look after our environment and encourage everyone to be as eco-friendly as possible, we have attained our 2nd Green Flag award. Each year a new team of eco-warriors is selected from Years 1 to 6. A few children continue to be an eco warrior from the previous year - they are good role models and take the new eco warriors under their wing.

All of the children have many opportunities to get involved with continuing to improve our school grounds.  We have been developing our eco garden area by planting herbs and vegetables. We have a bug hotel and monitor the different varieties of bugs that use it.  Our grounds are almost litter free and we are proud of how well the children respect our school grounds and indeed inside the school too. We continue to recycle paper and other recyclable waste by using designated bins in all classrooms. We are now making a great saving on our energy bill due to our solar panels and we are confident that our pupils are fully engaged in reducing their carbon foot print and looking after our world.

How can your child become an Eco – Warrior?

If your child is interested in becoming an Eco Warrior speak to an Eco team member to arrange taster sessions. Our club runs on a Thursday from 3.15 – 4.30pm
